42 Students Paddle 100Km
Forty-Two students from Esher College paddled exactly 100km (from Pangbourne to our Thames Young Mariner's centre) along the River Thames to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Gold practise Canoe Expedition.
The students prepared for their expedition by attending four weekends of canoeing sessions based at Thames Young Mariners.
Emma Cheney of Esher College said: "I think the practise was suitably tough and suitable preparation. Thank you for such a well organised and well-run expedition."
Our outdoor educators Adam, Simon, Piers & Scott supported the group of students on the 4-day expeditions which took place in two waves of 3 groups (6 groups in total).
The students will tackle their qualifying expedition after their A-levels on the River Wye this summer.
