SOLD has reopened!

Following the most recent government's advice and in line with schools returning gradually, we at Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development (SOLD) are pleased to advise that we are re-opening our outdoor learning centres and support services to our customers.

Safety is our main priority and our activities and programmes have been fully risk assessed resulting in the introduction of enhanced safety measures and stringent hygiene procedures, whilst ensuring socially distancing to protect our customers and staff alike.

SOLD is passionate about the many benefits outdoor learning can offer children and young people as the country easies out of the lockdown period. Right now, the outdoor environment is the healthiest place to be and naturally lends itself to social distancing.

Thank you to all of our loyal customers during this time for your understanding and patience as we contact you all regarding your bookings. As lockdown guidelines change, so will our service offering for you from both SOLD and TAZ – The Adventure Zone. Currently our group sizes will be smaller to adhere to the government guidelines and some activities will not be able to take place in order to safely adhere to social distancing requirements.

For schools - please take a look at our 'Using the outdoors to reopen schools' information which details how we can support teachers including outreach programmes in school, day visits to our centres and CPD for staff.

For families and parents - we are currently planning our TAZ school holiday programmes for your children and will be opening bookings shortly for High Ashurst in Mickleham nr Dorking, Thames Young Mariners in Ham nr Richmond and new for 2020, Henley Fort in Guildford with sessions starting around 6th July.

AVAILABLE NOW – 'TAZ Family adventure sessions' for cohabiting family groups. The perfect post lockdown opportunity to come together for an exciting day in the outdoors and taking part in a choice of adventurous activities at any of our centres. These activities could include woodland skills, archery, team challenges, nature walk using maps and compasses, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking and so much more. (Certain activities only available at selected centres). These sessions ensure strict social distancing with our instructors and any other visitors onsite at the same time along with strict hygiene and cleaning measures in place.

Coming soon - TAZ Family Glamping Staycations - With overseas holidays unlikely for most families this summer, we are hoping to offer 'Glamping Staycations' for all the family. Available at all three of our outdoor learning centres, we will be glamping up our tepees and yurts when government restrictions allow. These overnight staycations will include a full outdoor activity programme, accommodation and meals. This will be the perfect opportunity for you and your family to get away and have some fun together post lockdown. More information coming soon....
