Activities
Our eight-metre-high mobile climbing tower will provide a thrilling challenge for your participants, improving confidence, trust and coordination.
Schools and youth groups will be encouraged to work the safety ropes under close control of our instructors, ensuring participants are engaged in the activity at all times. Great for ages 8 – 80 and popular for open day events as well as schools.
SOLD offers three different types of archery to fit with all locations and ages, using: traditional pointed tip arrows, clout arrows (sponge tips for shooting ground targets), or sucker arrows (great for small sites and younger children). An exciting activity that requires patience, skill and determination to improve.
An excellent chance to build map reading and navigation skills whilst also improving communication, teamwork and fitness. We can use your sites own orienteering maps or create one for the day if needed. Orienteering sessions can be packed full of curriculum linked learning in almost any subject.
Our staff will lead small teams through a number of interactive icebreakers and problem-solving challenges. We facilitate the "Plan, Do, Review" model to ensure the groups improve those important teamworking skills at each task. Along with developing communication, empathy, leadership and cognitive skills, the challenges can be adapted to link to a variety of curriculum subjects if desired.
From lighting fires for cooking or experiments, to building dens and woodland art pieces, these activities encourage perseverance and a connection to nature. We have the equipment and expertise to provide these activities in the smallest and most barren grounds! These activities can be adapted to compliment existing outdoor programmes at your site, or curriculum learning (Stone Age skills being a popular example).
A range of Key stage 1 & 2 educational & environmental games and activities covering; habitats, bug hunting, mini beasting, hibernation, tree identification, germination, pollination, food chains and many more.
Whether you want to have your year group experience the challenges of the Stone Age, train as a Roman army, or learn maths skills as they shoot arrows - we can tailor your outreach experience to fit learning across a range of subjects. We can use the activities above as tools for NC learning or work alongside teachers running less adventurous (but very much enjoyable) outdoor lessons.
Price
Every booking is bespoke, and we are unable to give generic prices.
The cost to your school is based on the number of SOLD instructors required to deliver your specific programme.
Outreach prices cover a full school day.
Our instructors work on a 1:10 instructor to pupil ratio, however activities such as climbing require a minimum of 2 instructors. It may be possible for you to reduce the cost to your school if you decide to run some of your own activities as part of the programme.
