Gold Residential SUPing, Canoeing and Kayaking at Thames Young Mariners

We offer action-packed, outdoor activity Gold Residential programmes at Thames Young Mariners.

Our SUPing, Canoeing and Kayaking residential lets you try out different outdoor activities while our experienced staff help you step beyond your comfort zone. You will learn new skills and make new friends en route to completing your Gold award.

The courses are five days long in total which fulfill the requirements of the residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Gold DofE 5 Day Residential Course

DofE Gold Residential Award in teepees, doing canoeing and kayaking programme at Thames Young Mariners OEC, near Kingston, Surrey.

The duration of the course is five days and meets the requirements of the residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

All equipment, food and bell tents accommodation is included in the price.

Our experienced Paddle Sport Instructors will be on hand to help you to achieve your greatest potential.

There's a large selection of paddle sports craft and equipment for you to use including playboats, sea kayaks, SUPs, touring canoes and slalom kayaks.

Once you have built up your confidence paddling on our sheltered lake, there will be an opportunity to journey on the River Thames.

At the end of the week, you should have gained both the British Canoeing Paddle Start award and the British Canoeing Paddle Discover Award.

Accommodation

You will stay in bell tents on our picturesque site beside the River Thames and all food will be provided. Meals are provided in the main hall, a short walk from the teepees.
