15 October 2024 – Henley Fort and Angel Blue, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4RH

17 October 2024 – Thames Young Mariners, Ham near Kingston, TW10 7RX

We are planning our next cohort of Apprentices to commence at the beginning of 2025.

Apprentices will be required and have the opportunity to experience and work at all centres with a primary base:

  • Henley Fort in Guildford
  • High Ashurst in Mickleham near Dorking
  • Thames Young Mariners in Ham near Richmond

We are looking for

  • Applicants aged 18+ (no upper age limit)
  • English and Maths skills (Functional skills min level 2/GCSE 4)
  • A passion for the outdoors – in all weathers!
  • A personal interest in a particular outdoor activity such as mountain biking, sailing, climbing, walking, archery and wanting to share your enthusiasm.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.
  • Being people centric – enjoy working amongst others.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Keen to grow and develop both your own personal and social skills as well as our customers through outcome driven learning.
  • Be mobile around all of SOLD's centres. (Two of our centres are accessible via public transport/cycleways. However, High Ashurst in Mickleham is in a remote location). Having your own transport would be ideal.
  • Flexibility! Our staff are required to work during weekdays, evening and weekends. Average of 36 hours week based on business needs/ toil accrued.

    • Royal Yatching Association (RYA) Powerboat Handling Level 2
    • British Canoeing Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course
    • British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor
    • Archery Great Britain (GB) Instructor Award
    • Mountain Training Lowland Leader Training
    • Safeguarding
    • Fire prevention
    • GDPR

    • TAZ product induction
    • Estates tools use
    • Vehicle and trailer use (subject to age and driving experience)
