Alternative Learning
Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development can work with a variety of young people who require support with their education (from primary through to tertiary education).
The young person can benefit from our high-quality outdoor learning experience and opportunities at any of our sites or the surround areas.
By working with referring organisations, we can build a package that works with other education that they are doing.
We can work in a 121 environment or as a small group of less than 6.
- 121 work focusing on growth mindset skills in new environments
- Supporting curriculum subjects focusing on Maths and English using the outdoors
- Developing skills for transitioning to Secondary School
- Personal and social skills development with the aim of returning to a school placement
- Post 16, including work experiences and employability skills
Our programs are designed to the young person and determined learning outcomes.
Here are some past programs examples:
- Young people with a current EHCP
- Young people who are linked to Surrey County Council or other local authority
- Young people who are at risk of exclusion from school
